چکیده

In this paper we present a propositional logic programming language for reasoning under possibilistic uncertainty and represent ing vague knowledge. Formulas are repre sented by pairs (ip, a), where ip is a many valued proposition and a E [0, 1] is a lower bound on the belief on ip in terms of necessity measures. Belief states are modeled by pos sibility distributions on the set of all many valued interpretations. In this framework, (i) we define a syntax and a semantics of the gen eral underlying uncertainty logic; (ii) we pro vide a modus ponens-style calculus for a sub language of Horn-rules and we prove that it is complete for determining the maximum de gree of possibilistic belief with which a fuzzy propositional variable can be entailed from a set of formulas; and finally, (iii) we show how the computation of a partial matching be tween fuzzy propositional variables, in terms of necessity measures for fuzzy sets, can be included in our logic programming system.

Modeling Defeasible Argumentation within a Possibilistic Logic Framework with Fuzzy Unification

Possibilistic Defeasible Logic Programming (P-DeLP) is a logic programming language which combines features from argumentation theory and logic programming, incorporating the treatment of possibilistic uncertainty at object-language level. This paper presents a first approach towards extending P-DeLP to incorporate fuzzy constants and fuzzy propositional variables. We focus on how to characteri...

Encoding formulas with partially constrained weights in a possibilistic-like many-sorted propositional logic

Possibilistic logic offers a convenient tool for handling uncertain or prioritized formulas and coping with inconsistency. Propositional logic formulas are thus associated with weights belonging to a linearly ordered scale. However, especially in case of multiple source information, only partial knowledge may be available about the relative ordering between weights of formulas. In order to cope...

Local Possibilistic Logic

Possibilistic states of information are fuzzy sets of possible worlds. They constitute a complete lattice, which can be endowed with a monoidal operation (a t-norm) to produce a quantal. An algebraic semantics is presented which links possibilistic formulae with information states, and gives a natural interpretation of logical connectives as operations on fuzzy sets. Due to the quantal structur...

A qualitative fuzzy possibilistic logic

A formal logical system dealing with both uncertainty (possibility) and vagueness (fuzziness) is investigated. It is many-valued and modal. The system is related to a many-valued tense logic. A completeness theorem is exhibited. K E Y W O R D S : fuzzy logic, modal logic, possibilistic logic, comparative approach

Truth Values and Connectives in Some Non-Classical Logics

The question as to whether the propositional logic of Heyting, which was a formalization of Brouwer's intuitionistic logic, is finitely many valued or not, was open for a while (the question was asked by Hahn). Kurt Gödel (1932) introduced an infinite decreasing chain of intermediate logics, which are known nowadays as Gödel logics, for showing that the intuitionistic logic is not finitely (man...
